A 40-year-old man of Bergenfield, New Jersey, has been charged with the killing and dismembering of a 31-year-old woman. The woman was the owner of a local lounge and claimed to have been stalked by the killer for some time before she died. While prosecutors back up this claim, there are no public records to indicate it was true. The killer is awaiting trial for murder, desecration of human remains, stalking, hindering apprehension, and using a credit card he stole. The woman killed had been a bartender for years before her death, and she had decided to use the money she made over the years to open a local lounge. She moved to the United States as a teenager.Prosecutors say that the murderer had been stalking the victim for about a week and a half, and the lounge owner showed signs of emotional distress during the last few weeks of her life. The stress and the stalking are very much thought to be linked. In late June, the victim’s body parts were found washed up in a river in New York, finally putting an end to her disappearance. The murderer will likely be facing a very harsh sentencing for the number of crimes that he is being accused of. In a case like this, having the best possible attorney is the only way for the defendant to pursue a lesser sentencing.Though it is never guaranteed, hiring an experienced attorney for a criminal defense case may be the only way out of suffering the consequences for a maximum sentence.
