A man from Trenton who was on the run for the last two weeks of September after reportedly shooting his wife and his family finally surrendered peacefully, according to a report from The Trentonian.“We were on him 24 hours a day and we turned over a lot of stones,” Lt. Darren Zappley told The Trentonian. “I think the pressure from that made him realize there was nowhere for him to go.”The suspect, 40-year-old Jamie Livingston, surrendered at the headquarters for the Trenton Police Department on the night of Wednesday, October 3 after he retained an attorney. Livingston has been charged with aggravated assault, attempted murder, and weapons offenses. The shooting took place on September 23, and officials with the Trenton Police Department were worried that Livingston would not be captured without a fight. Zappley said that rumors were swirling around Trenton that Livingston was going to use violence against authorities because he did not want to return to prison. According to officers, Livingston shot his wife, his mother-in-law, and his brother-in-law in a home on Maple Avenue at around 2:30 on the morning of the incident. He reportedly fled the scene in a gold Cadillac. Authorities have said that Livingston and his wife argued the day before the shooting, and tensions boiled over when her relatives entered the room. Fortunately, all of the victims survived being shot multiple times. The incident is still being investigated by the Trenton Police Department.Livingston was previously arrested in March 2018 after a raid revealed more than 200 grams of marijuana, more than 200 grams of cocaine, and .22-caliber semi-automatic gun. At the time of the raid, Trenton police said that Livingston was using a home on Tyrell Avenue to deal drugs.
